Full-leg lipedema treatment in Paris

Understanding full-leg lipedema

Full-leg lipedema treatment in Paris 16

Lipedema is a progressive disease affecting the hips, thighs, knees, legs, and sometimes the ankles, while sparing the feet. It is frequently associated with spontaneous pain, excessive sensitivity to touch, easy bruising, and significant psychological impact.
When lipedema involves the entire legs, partial treatment exposes patients to morphological imbalances and persistent symptoms. This is why a global vision is essential.

Why treat full-leg lipedema in its entirety in Paris?

One of my fundamental principles is never to fragment a global pathology. Treating lipedema of the entire legs allows for:

  • homogeneous volume reduction

  • better continuity of anatomical lines

  • more effective reduction of pain and heaviness

  • durable functional improvement

Treating only the thighs or calves may lead to silhouette discontinuities and incomplete results. My approach aims for morphological coherence while respecting lymphatic and venous physiology.

Professor Jean-Paul Meningaud plastic surgery

In the treatment of lipedema, I favor predominantly manual liposuction, which I consider more precise and more respectful than fully assisted techniques.
This approach allows for:

  • continuous tactile feedback

  • fine adaptation to the specific density of lipedema fat

  • maximal reduction of vascular trauma

My objective is clear: to obtain aspirated fat that is as yellow as possible, with minimal blood and fluid—an indicator of a controlled and atraumatic surgical technique. This technical rigor contributes to faster recovery, reduced swelling, and fewer postoperative bruises.

I systematically use VASER® technology, which enables selective emulsification of fat while preserving vital structures such as vessels, nerves, and lymphatics.

In lipedema, VASER® facilitates:

  • more homogeneous extraction of pathological fat

  • reduced surgical trauma

  • improved postoperative skin quality

However, VASER® is only a preparatory step. In my experience, the precision of the manual gesture remains decisive.

The second distinguishing pillar of my approach is the use of Argon Plasma, which I now consider one of the most effective technologies for deep skin retraction.
After removing the large volumes characteristic of lipedema, the skin may show loss of tone. Argon Plasma allows for:

  • homogeneous skin contraction

  • significant improvement in firmness

  • reduced risk of secondary skin laxity

This technology works deeply and in a controlled manner, perfectly complementing liposuction.

Patients generally report:

  • marked reduction in pain

  • a sensation of lighter legs

  • clear improvement in body contour

  • improved mobility and quality of life

Results develop progressively over several months, as swelling subsides and the skin fully retracts.

Every case of lipedema is unique. The preoperative consultation is essential to establish an accurate diagnosis, assess disease stage, and define a personalized surgical strategy.

Based in Paris 16, I place my expertise as a plastic surgeon at the service of a rigorous, human, and demanding approach, with one clear objective: to treat full-leg lipedema globally, durably, and with respect for the body.
