Rhinoplasty in East Paris
Aesthetic Surgery Pr Meningaud
Medical or surgical rhinoplasty?
I do both. The answer is mainly a question of indication. If it’s possible to perform a medical rhinoplasty, why not? The result is immediate and the cost quite modest. Durability is not so short – one year, sometimes two to three years. But unfortunately this is not always possible, in which case surgical rhinoplasty is of course required.

What type of surgical rhinoplasty should I choose?
I do them all, but I have a preference for open rhinoplasty. I perform classic closed rhinoplasty for very simple cases and so-called preservation rhinoplasty for special cases.
How long is the hospital stay?
With a few exceptions, I perform rhinoplasty under general anaesthesia, and the operation can be performed on an outpatient basis or require a short hospital stay.
What type of restraint do you use?
I stopped using casts a long time ago. I use a self-adhesive flesh-coloured metal splint. The noses I operate on are completely sewn in, so the splint is mainly for protection, not for support.
Do you perform meching?
I perform a very light meching (in fact, the equivalent of a walnut in the nostrils). The sole purpose of this is to prevent the formation of crusts at this level, which can lead to secondary asymmetries. Removal the following day is completely painless.

Is a plaster cast necessary?
In cases where no osteotomy has been performed, no plaster cast is required (rhinoplasty de pointe). When it is necessary, we are increasingly using a self-adhesive aluminium splint with a flesh-coloured coating. This device is much more discreet. It is usually removed on the tenth day.
