This checklist helps you plan a 15-day stay in Paris for a deep plane facelift, including what to bring, how to prepare, and what follow-up looks like after you return home.
International Facelift Patient Checklist
Before you travel (2–6 weeks prior)
Medical & admin
- Complete the medical questionnaire (past history, medications, allergies)
- Share any relevant documents (recent blood tests, ECG if requested, imaging if applicable)
- Inform us about:
- smoking/vaping (must be discussed early)
- blood thinners / aspirin / NSAIDs
- supplements that may increase bleeding (e.g., fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, garlic extracts, turmeric/curcumin)
- Arrange a travel companion for the first days if possible (strongly recommended)
Travel planning
- Book accommodation close to Clinique Eiffel (easy access for check-ups)
- Plan for low-activity days: avoid tourism “marathons”
- Ensure your passport/visa situation is suitable for a short stay in France (if applicable)

Essentials

- Comfortable clothes that open in front (zip/button shirts)
- Loose pants, warm layers, scarf (Paris weather can change quickly)
- Comfortable slip-on shoes
Recovery comfort
- A small ice-pack/gel pack (or buy in Paris)
- Arnica (only if you already tolerate it; not mandatory)
- Saline spray (for nasal dryness if needed)
- Lip balm, gentle facial cleanser, sensitive-skin moisturizer
- A soft headband / hair clips (to keep hair away from incisions)
Aftercare items (often useful)
- Silicone gel or silicone strips (we will tell you when to start)
- Gauze pads (if advised)
- Thermometer
- Extra pillows or a travel wedge pillow (for head elevation)
Your 15-day timeline (typical)
Day 1–2: In-person consultation + pre-op
- In-person assessment and confirmation of the surgical plan
- Pre-anesthesia consultation and required tests
- Final practical instructions (washing hair, fasting, medications)
Day 3–5: Surgery and immediate recovery
- Surgery at Clinique Eiffel (Paris)
- Monitoring and discharge according to your individualized plan
- Start of structured wound care and swelling/bruising management
Day 6–14: Check-ups and progressive recovery
- Several in-person follow-ups (dressing/suture care as needed)
- Scar care guidance and progressive return to light walking
- Clear instructions for sleep position (usually head elevated)
- Gentle hygiene and hair washing instructions when appropriate
Day 15: Final clearance + travel plan
- Clinical exam and confirmation you are fit to travel
- Written aftercare plan + remote follow-up schedule
When can I fly home?
With a planned 15-day stay, the goal is to clear you for travel after an in-person exam close to departure.
General guidance (final decision is medical):
- Prefer direct flights when possible
- Avoid heavy luggage lifting
- Keep your first travel day simple and low stress
- If you have significant swelling, wound concerns, fever, new pain, shortness of breath, or unusual symptoms, flying may be delayed for safety
We will confirm travel timing based on your recovery and procedure details.
Daily do’s and don’ts (during your stay)
Do
- Walk gently every day (short, frequent walks)
- Sleep with head elevated
- Stay well hydrated and eat protein-rich meals
- Protect your skin from cold/wind and sun exposure
- Keep incisions clean and follow the prescribed routine precisely
Avoid
- Smoking or vaping (major healing risk)
- Alcohol in the early post-op period (unless explicitly allowed)
- Sports, heavy lifting, sauna/hammam, long hot showers early on
- Sun exposure on scars (risk of pigmentation)
- Self-medicating with aspirin/NSAIDs unless authorized
Aftercare once you’re back home (US / International)
Remote follow-up (typical schedule)
- Video check-in: week 1 after return
- Then: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months

Local support
If needed, we can help you plan simple local care (e.g., routine wound checks) with your physician. You will receive clear written instructions about what to monitor and when to seek evaluation.
Red flags — contact us urgently if you develop
- Fever, chills, or rapidly increasing pain
- Sudden asymmetric swelling, expanding bruising, or bleeding
- Pus-like discharge or worsening redness around incisions
- Severe headache, vision changes, fainting
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, calf pain/swelling
