From practice to teaching: a passion for training

Train, inspire, grow

My professional activities focus on general plastic surgery, maxillofacial and facial plastic surgery, as well as cosmetic medicine and surgery.
For sixteen years, I had the privilege of being a professor at Paris 12 University, and for thirteen years, I headed the plastic, reconstructive, cosmetic and maxillofacial surgery department at Henri-Mondor University Hospital. My career began as an intern at the Paris Hospitals, then as a senior registrar at the Salpêtrière Hospital, before moving on to larger-scale medical and academic projects.

Since 2006, I have also been practising as a legal expert at the Paris Court of Appeal, and I was accredited by the Court of Cassation in 2012.
As a facial specialist, I have had the opportunity to participate in seven face transplants since 2007, which remains a remarkable human and surgical adventure.

In 2018, I had the honour of being admitted to the National Academy of Surgery, of which I am now a full member. This institutional commitment is part of a constant desire to serve the discipline, defend its values, and pass on what I myself have received.

Teaching has always been central to my career. I am fortunate to teach at several universities in France and abroad, offering university degrees and postgraduate courses. I also collaborate with learned societies, private organisations and numerous medical conferences, where I give lectures, masterclasses and practical workshops.

I attach great importance to making knowledge accessible, particularly through educational publications and interactive formats. On a daily basis, I am delighted to welcome young colleagues and students to my practice for observation or advanced training placements, in a spirit of kindness, rigour and sharing.

Passing on what I have learned is a way for me to keep the chain of knowledge alive and, in turn, to inspire those who will shape the medicine of tomorrow.
